My Trip to France 2013

I went to France last week and had a really great time!

We went to Disneyland Paris for most of the time and I had a lot of fun going on the rides I could handle. Because of my illness, I have had a lot of motion sickness and tiredness from going on fast rides - I also cannot go on rides with bright, fast-moving, flashing lights - so I mostly went on the nice, calm rides ahaha. :) I ate lots of lovely food everyday and just generally relaxed most of the time, reading and playing Animal Crossing in our caravan.

My favourite ride had to be Phantom Manner because of the whole atmosphere and scenery. The ride was amazing though! I love all the decorations and special effects, it makes it so magical and gothic!

My favourite restaurant was either the Blue Lagoon which was Pirate/Pirates of the Caribbean themed, or Annette's Diner for obvious reasons (I love the 50s!). I can't eat much because I'm a fussy eater and only like certain foods, but the food I ate there was very nice. I loved the burgers at Annette's diner - and the scenery in there was beautiful too and inspired some abstract designs on my recent picture. :)

One day we went into Paris and I visited the Baby, the Stars Shine Bright store! I felt like a princess and that's where I bought my head bow and socks. I also got these free badges because of my purchases! It was really magical to go to the physical store; even more so when you're reading Kamikaze Girls at the same time!

The store was bigger than I expected and the customer service was great! (My mum made me anxiously anticipate some really snobby, scary elitist lolita who would look down their nose at me for not wearing lolita to visit the store... and she was very wrongly mistaken!) I would definitely go again some day.

As it's the last day of August, I wanted something summery and casual. :)
I wore my hair in plaits to keep cool.

IT Character Designs - Henry and Patrick

I've decided to redesign all of my favourite characters lately, so, starting with IT - here's Henry Bowers and Patrick Hockstetter! This is exactly how I imagined them to look whilst writing Funhouse and the Summertime Blues. :3

Henry's obviously a greaser and I wanted Patrick to lean slightly towards the Teddy Boy style. I'm going to do the Losers Club, Pennywise, Vic and Belch soon!

Kamikaze Girls by Novala Takemoto

Just before I went to France, I was browsing through the books on Ebay as I was about to finish the book on my Kindle (Huckleberry Finn if anybody's interested). On Tumblr I'm always seeing those Kamikaze Girls GIFs on the Lolita blogs, and turns out, it's a book as well as a movie! Now, a book about the Lolita lifestyle is unusual and hard to find - which is why I became very excited when I found Kamikaze Girls. Buying the paperback despite being in love with the Kindle, I definitely didn't regret it when I began reading on my vacation! I am absolutely positive Kamikaze Girls is in my top five favourite books.
Momoko is a Lolita girl who dreams of living in Rococo-era France and adorns herself from head to toe in Baby, the Stars Shine Bright. Ichigo is a biker in an all-girl "Yanki" gang. How would the two get along when they are constantly at odds? This is what I love.
I love the relationship between the two girls; they go from almost hating each other, to becoming acquaintances, to tolerating each other, to being maybe-friends - then really needing each other. In their own way, both Ichigo and Momoko are very lonely. Ichigo may have her biker gang, but near the end she realizes that they're never really there for each other despite always confirming that they are friends. Momoko never had any friends at all - and she blames that on her cold and blunt personality. Maybe it's just me, but I actually don't think Momoko is as bad as herself and Ichigo thinks? I'm probably biased. Momoko is so much like me that it's scary! I'm probably just defending her because of it ahaha.
Together, Ichigo and Momoko set out to find a legendary embroiderer who can add some embroidery to Ichigo's Kamikaze coat. Turns out, this embroiderer is too good to be true! In fact, I may have missed something, but didn't Ichigo make up the embroiderer? Anyway, they can't find him and eventually Momoko sews the Kamikaze coat instead.
In the end, Momoko and Ichigo become really good friends; each doing things together that wouldn't suit their lifestyles just to make each other happy. Think a lolita girl playing Pachinko and a Yanki biker modelling for Baby!
Basically I just love these characters so much and Kamikaze Girls has inspired me so much! I literally couldn't put it down! For the first time, I have found a character that represents myself so much in every way, and I couldn't be happier. I really recommend the book Kamikaze Girls to any lover of lolita fashion and lifestyle - and the film is amazing too.  Shortly after the book I watched the film and it's slightly different in some parts, but still a really, really great watch!

Funhouse and the Summertime Blues

Well, this has been the first story/fanfiction I've written properly, so I guess I'm actually pretty proud of it! IT by Stephen King is one of my favourite books of all time - and I could write LOTS about it. All the characters, their lives, the town of Derry and even the way King describes everything just intrigues me.

Maybe someday I'll write more about Stephen King's IT; but I think it would be good to write some of my own stuff in future despite how much I love IT. There was so much more I wanted to include!

Anyway, I've finished the writing part; now to redesign the characters from when I drew them in the comic!

Long time no see!

Goodness, it's been a long time since I posted on Blogspot. I completely forgot I had this account as I've been so busy on Tumblr recently! I really need to get back into the swing of things, which is why I'm going to post my recent art. After that, I'll post the chapters of Funhouse and the Summertime Blues (my fanfiction).
