Dal Clair

For Christmas this year I received another lovely addition to my doll collection, Dal Clair! Not only that, but I also got a blank, make-it-own Dal to customize and paint; I'm feeling quite lucky this year to have a new doll project to keep me occupied.

Dal Clair is my first Dal, and I just adore her sulky expression and petite form. Dals are slightly smaller than Pullip dolls, which just makes them all the more cuter in my opinion - it's amazing how many intricate details the Innocent World outfit manages to fit on such a small doll!
Her dark green eyes look stunning combined with the brown of the dress and bonnet, and her ringlet curls are perfectly formed - just like an antique Victorian doll!
I adore the outfit she comes with, naturally, seeing as it is designed by Innocent World, and those boots that she wears are so cute and tiny.

She has to be my second favourite doll, after Aika of course!

Due to her sour, spoiled-child-looking features and pouted expression, a name came immediately to my mind as she reminded me of a girl I knew in my childhood: Grace. I know it's kind of silly, but as soon as I saw her she jogged that memory of the brattiest little girl I ever knew, and no other name would suffice. My Mum thinks I'm rather mean to name her like that based on her expression, but the name has stuck and I can't shake it! I also thought that Grace was fitting, as it's a rather religious name that reminds me of angels, which is fitting for a present received on Christmas day.

In my mind she's a young English child, perhaps ten years old or younger, with rich parents that love to spoil her with adorable clothes and many stuffed animals. She's not a sweet little girl made of sugar and spice and all things nice, rather, she can be manipulative and bratty, throwing a tantrum whenever things don't go her way. Yet despite all that, her parents see her as the apple of their eye and continue to buy her love. However, she also has her good side and can be very polite, kind and generous whenever she wants to be. She also stands up for those that she loves, especially if they're weak.

Isul Lir

This Christmas I was very lucky to receive Isul Lir from my parents. Isul Lir is the doll in the same collection as Beverly, my Pullip Merl, as both have a very nautical feel to their outfits.

Isul Lir has big, dewy brown eyes, incredibly long brown eyelashes, and sweet, peach-pink lips. The doll's hair is short, slightly spiky in places, and styled in a dirty blonde bob around its face. Although its hair is not as soft as my other dolls', it makes up for it by being very different, adding to its personality. Lir has a lovely skin shade, that is quite a healthy colour, reminding me of vintage illustrations of children used during the 50s, perfect for a seafarer!
Lir's outfit is just the cutest, reminding me of the clothes that little boys used to wear in the Victorian age. It comes with a sash, bloomers, striped socks and boots with tiny laces; I even think that the sailor cap is embroidered (embroidery being one of my favourite embellishments on garments)!

Although Isuls are generally manufactured to be males, I have decided that this time the Isul doll will be female. At first I wanted to call it Oscar, but as soon as I saw it, I thought that a female character would be more fitting. Besides, she has the same hairstyle as me!

So, her name is Audrey, in my mind, and she is an assistant to Beverly on the ship they live in. I have yet to come up with specifics, but when I do they'll be posted to my doll page.

Pullip Doll Nella

For my 16th birthday I received Pullip Nella from my parents! She's so beautiful, and seeing as she has a slightly darker colour scheme in her clothes, I'm calling her Celeste, like stars in the night sky.

Pullip Nella has golden blonde hair in an intricate braided style. Her hair is long, soft and beautiful, but due to the style there's no chance it will become tangled. She has dark hazel-green eyes, similar to Johan's in style, but a completely different colour. She is my first doll with pale pink lips, and they're just adorable! Nella's outfit is made by Alice and the Pirates, a gothic lolita brand, and comes with a matching headdress. My favourite part of her outfit is her harlequin-styled tights and tiny shoes!

I've decided long ago that she'll be Johan's older sister, aged 15, and lives in Cologne with him in the 1930s. She goes to an all-girls school, but really wishes she could be with her brother instead, as she's not a big fan of her school. Her hobbies are singing, playing the piano - especially practicing études - dancing, and watching the stars.

The collection so far.
My collection is getting rather big so I recently got a glass display cabinet from IKEA to put them all in. So far it hasn't been assembled yet, but I'm really looking forward to it.

Johan Isul

For Christmas I received my first Isul doll, Johan! I've admired this particular doll for a long time now, and I'm so happy he's mine! I first saw him in the Gothic and Lolita Bible, and it was kind of love at first sight, ahaha.

He has short platinum blond hair, orange-y lips, and really striking blue eyes. Isul Johan's skin is very fair, almost looking ghostly, but that's all a part of his character, I think.
His clothes are made by Alice and the Pirates, a sister brand of Baby, the Stars Shine Bright, so naturally they're very beautiful and wonderfully well-made. The attention to detail is flawless, especially with the miniscule clocks, tiny, tiny removable bows, and beads. I just love the design of his clothes, which were designed by Mitsukazu Mihara, I think! (one of my favourite artists)

I decided to name him Johan, which is his stock name by Pullip. Usually I don't do that, but it was such a cute name that I couldn't resist. I like to pronounce it the German way, YO-hahn. It's sophisticated and rich-sounding but not too complex. Plus, it's a little like Joanne Harcourt's name from Black Butler. <3

I love these little card thingys
As for his back story, I decided, like his name, he's going to be German. He is 12 years old, and lives during the 1930s. He loves his elder sister (who I'm saving my pennies for right now), Celeste, and lives in Cologne. His hobbies are dancing, star gazing, and he loves the snow. Birthday is the 17th December.

Pullip Doll Merl

A few days before my birthday I received Pullip Merl, as birthdays always make me nervous for some reason!

I think she is my favourite doll so far! She has long, soft red hair that falls almost to her feet, and ends up in little waves around her legs. Her eyes are a beautiful colour, and her lips are almost the same shade as her hair.
Pullip Merl's outfit is a navy blue sailor-style dress that reminds me somewhat of fashions popular in the Edwardian times. It is complete with sailor collar, tiny little buttons and double white lines to suit the style. Her underskirt peeks just below her blue one in little ruffles. When you take off the outer dress, she is wearing a really cute white dress underneath,  that looks a little like an old-fashioned nightgown. Merl also comes with a yellow lacy sash, stripy woolen socks, adorable little boots and two head-eating bow clips.

I have decided to nickname her Beverly after the character from Stephen King's It. (it must be the red hair, ahaha. That's what I remember most about her from Ben's haiku).

Beverly is also from the 50s, and her hobbies and interests are sailing, the ocean, marine life, swimming, birds, adventures and meeting new people. She is illiterate but gets by just fine. She is also one of my OCs, and she gets her name from Beverly Marsh, one of my favourite characters from Stephen King's It. She's also inspired a little by the lovely Jimmy "Diamond" Skinner from David Balacci's Wish You Well. Her star sign is Libra and she is 15 years old.

Pullip Doll Tiphona

Yesterday my first Pullip doll, Tiphona, arrived from America!

She's just so beautiful! I would recommend Tiphona to any doll lover, as her hair is so soft and her face up so gentle.
She's wearing clothes and accessories designed by Japanese lolita brand, Innocent World. The clothes are of immaculate quality with so much detail! If I had enough money, I would buy the human-sized version, even though I'm more of a sweet and gothic lolita rather than classic. The doll came with tiny shoes, a gorgeous headband and a really cute headband.

Her eyes can change direction rather than colour. The colour of her eyes look really natural.

I'm calling her Aika Takanaga after my favourite OC.
They look kind of alike, I suppose! :)
Aika (on the right)

Aika is from the 50s, and she loves drawing comics and singing. She is half Japanese, half French, but lives with her rich and famous father and two elder brothers in Maine.
Her star sign is Gemini and she was born on the 26th May, 1945 (13-14 years old).
She is quiet, bubbly, friendly, fashionable and artistic. Aika likes spending time with her friend, Cherry Misaki.

Tangkou Doll Vampire

Here's my Tangkou doll Vampire - I received her whilst I was sick in hospital.

Her wig is very long and could get tangled if you don't brush it every now and again. Her makeup is gothic, and I just love her little fangs! Vampire's eyes can change, just like other Tangkou dolls, but I think only the dark grey eyes suit her. That's just my opinion though. Overall, I love her!

I'm calling her Garnet, after one of my favorite Malice Mizer PVs.

Garnet was born in Tokyo in 1983. She is age 19 and her birthday is the 18th November. Her star sign is Scorpio.
Garnet is shy, quiet, intelligent and mysterious. She's a Harajuku girl that sews her own clothes and loves Malice Mizer. Her hobbies include poetry, reading, sewing and taking photos at Harajuku.

Tangkou Doll England

Here is my Tangkou doll that I received for my 14th birthday in Orlando, Florida. :)
She is the model England but I'm naming her Narcissa, or Cissy for short!

Tangkou dolls are like a hybrid of Blythes and Pullips. Someday I wish to get a Pullip doll to add to my collection. Pullip Tiphona maybe if she comes back into stock! :(
I really like the eye changing function - and the sleepy eyes are really adorable! The silver/clear eye colour is my favorite. Her stock outfit is sweet and made of good quality. I especially like her bloomers.

Narcissa was born in New York in 1942 and she is 16.5 years old. Her star sign is Libra and her dob is the 28th October. She has no family but is currently working as a maid and chef for a rich family living in Maine. Narcissa owns a black cat and likes; fashion, gossiping and cooking delicious food. Her dislikes are; too much mess and rats! She is elegant, sassy, sociable, upbeat, slightly lazy and cool. Tags - 'sure thing!'/'whatever'/ 'can't I do that later?!'.
