Carrie by Stephen King

This book was fairly short. I think I finished it in about two days... I watched the film first and really enjoyed it, and I actually think I like it better than the book. XD Well, the special effects in the film are kinda bad to nowadays standards, but it had more emotion in my opinion.
I love this photo. The colours and lights are beautiful.

In the book it didn't take very long for Carrie to completely lose it. I mean, it told us of the many years that she's been bullied by the people in her school, and the abuse from her mother - but I think it should have included a bit more in the present day...
Whereas in the film it had a little bit extra if I can remember, and showed the detentions that the bullies got.

Carrie is a teenage girl that's bullied by almost everyone in her school. She seems pretty average. Average school-work, average looks. However she has the special powers of telekinesis!
Little by little, other people seem to notice that. Like Miss Desjardin, the PE teacher who looks out for Carrie, and Carrie's mother.

Carrie's mother is a religious fanatic. She locks Carrie up in a cupboard and beats her when she's 'bad'. Her opinion of bad is having breasts, or coming on a period by the way... She's really insane!

A prom at Carrie's school is coming up and Sue Snell, a girl who bullied Carrie, decided to make her Boyfriend (Tommy) accompany Carrie as she felt bad for what happened. I thought that was kinda sweet, but kinda odd to be honest. What would she do if they got together or something?

At the prom, all goes really well and the reader feels really happy for Carrie. Tommy and Carrie get along really well, and suddenly everyone starts being really nice to her of course. I started to think everything would be okay and her life would be so much better after this evening, but this is Stephen King we're talking about here. So no. XD

The girl that made Carrie's life a misery really outdid herself now. She, along with her greaser boyfriend, set up a trap for when Carrie and Tommy were voted Prom King and Queen. It involved pig blood all over them and total humiliation.
In the film there is that really long walk up to the stage with Carrie beaming beautifully around at everyone. It was amazing and suspenseful at the same time, and made the prank even more heartbreaking! In the book I think it was a bit rushed and short-lived.

Then chaos breaks loose. In the film I had no idea what was going on! I didn't know the prom-goers were being electrocuted and just thought they were getting their clothes ruined by the water pipes! XD However in the book it really explains how they died in good detail. ALSO, in the book, the whole town is destroyed, not just the school prom!

Overall I enjoyed it, don't get me wrong. I just wanted it to be longer!

Tangkou 50s Dress

Last night my mum helped me finish the dress I've been making for my Tangkou doll. And it's only taken us... a month. XD
A close up

Sorry for the bad photos. I think I might steal my Granddad's soon ;)

As Narcissa is a maid, I tried to incorporate that into the design along with an element of the 50s. It kinda failed though as the dress looks completely different from the design. I'm still really pleased with it as it does have a 50s vibe to it somehow! I think I actually prefer this design to the old one below.
old design is very cringey!
To make the dress I just used a Pullip doll pattern and made it bigger to Tangkous measurements (they have bigger busts and wider torsos lol). It was fairly simple for a first try.

The materials I used were; a square of black fabric, a piece of white ribbon, heart-shaped white lace, a tiny belt buckle and some Velcro - all from Joanne's Fabric in Florida.

Black Butler Chapter 78

Okay so here are my thoughts on Black Butler chapter 78:

The detail is amazing in this picture!
-The cover picture is GORGEOUS! Reminds me of Yana Toboso's earlier cover pictures in the 1st few volumes!

- I think we might be getting somewhere with the plot... I mean, Sebastian's face was so shocked at the end. Could the guy he was chasing be a demon? It was certainly too fast to be human.

-The cricket is a little boring as I'm not really a sporty person, but Yana's artwork is amazing. She's even moving on from every character being a bishounen!

- Lau turning up and bringing his scantily-clad Chinese ladies was hilarious! XD And the way he pretended not to know very much English!! *dies*

 - MY BABY IS BACK!! Ahem... I mean, Maurice Cole isn't dead. ^^ The way he suddenly disappeared after falling out with Redmond kinda scared me. I really need to make an Maurice Cole appreciation post or something. XD He's a very minor character but I like him because he's a cunning little psycho ;D.

Getting jealous are we? XD
-Ciel's getting more independant.

-Sebastian could have some competition with whoever that guy is that he's chasing. I wasn't paying enough attention as it was 12 at night when I read it! ^^;

- This page is beautiful. I love the way Sebastian can just do a back flip through the air as if he's flying or something! He's so graceful (I'm so jealous. I wish I was some unnatural demon flying thing XD).

-The dude in those Kuroshitsuji road show adverts is really handsome in my opinion. He reminds me of Malice Mizer for some reason...

Misery by Stephen King

Yep, here's another of my rubbish book reviews with lots of spoilers... Sorry XD
Well firstly, this book has had me in suspense the whole way through. I became obsessed with it. Literally. I couldn't put it down. I think it may be my 2nd favorite Stephen King book for this reason.

Throughout the whole book I was terrified for the author, Paul, and what would happen to him whilst living in hostage! I think Annie (the kidnapper) was Bipolar. I can't remember though. She was terrifying in the way she acted motherly, happy and kind some days, and the next she would be depressed, chopping your leg off for the slightest mistake you made or re-breaking your already shattered legs!

Paul Sheldon was the famous author of the 'Misery' series, and had many fanatic female fans. Annie Wilkes was no exception. She was OBSESSED to the point that she would kidnap the author. However, we find out that she was an ex-nurse that has actually killed many patients before. She got put on trial for murder but got off somehow and moved to the mountains in Maine (interestingly there was a reference to the Overlook Hotel from The Shining!).
Anyway... Paul was involved in a car crash near the mountains, and was knocked unconscious with two completely shattered legs. The amount of detail explaining this poor guy's legs was rather gross, to be honest! And the way they never healed properly as well... Ugghhh D: Poor guy!
Annie found him and brought him to her secluded home in the mountains. She put some intra-venous tubes into his arms and fed him that way until he regained consciousness, and made a make-shift brace for his legs.

The guy woke up to a kind and caring Annie who brought him painkillers (which he later became addicted to. I've been there! XD In hospital I had 8 a day and none of them worked!!), fed him and talked to him. They appeared to be friends. However Annie had something planned for him!
At first I thought she wanted them to become lovers, as she did seem to have a little crush on him, after all he is her favourite author. But instead she made him write her a special book about Misery.

So, Paul got steadily better, with a few mishaps on the way.
Whenever he angers Annie, she would lash out in a really sadistic way. Including; the chopping off of limbs, refusal to give him the much needed painkillers and hitting his healing legs.
However he manages to get out of his sick room sometimes whilst Annie is in her 'laughing place'. It's those moments that the tension kills me! I'm like 'Ahhhhhh! What if she gets back, Paul! Hurry up!' and almost shaking my Kindle! XD

It's the ending that really scares me though...

Edit - I've created a roleplaying blog on Tumblr (one of my latest crazes! I've been following an amazing Patrick Hockstetter RP blog for ages now.) for the character Annie Wilkes!

Isuls?

I've been looking on PullipStyle.com for ideas on my next doll (when I have money, which may be never with the amount of clothes I keep buying! XD) and I really love these dolls!

Isul Johan, which has clothes by BtSSB/AatP and a design by Mitsukazu Mihara, who I love btw... Orrrrrrr Isul Duke, who is really cute in design, and looks as if he could be Pullip Tiphona's brother or something!

I don't know because they're both really cute!

I want one to look like my OC, Alois (otherwise known as the Boy in Bikini...I have a sick mind XD) and they both are pretty similar.

Chainsaws! X3

I've discovered recently that I have a little fascination with chainsaws!

(Don't worry, I'm not a psychopath that's gonna kill you... XD)

I blame Grell Sutcliffe for this.... and also the music I've been listening to....
